Stories Time Forgot 3

Have you ever seen the ocean? The sun reflecting off the surfaces of the blue making it sparkle? The deep waters that stretch across the horizon as far as the eye can see? The seagulls above and dolphins below calling to one another as the play? That is where I live. On A tiny island in the middle of the ocean, There is A little house settled next to A lighthouse. Every day at dawn, I wake up and help my daddy tend to the lighthouse. It is wonderful to be a lighthouse keeper. But as much as I love the ocean, life can get A little boring. I have always wanted to go to the mainland, but daddy says it would be risky. One night I asked why, but he didn’t answer. Instead, he sadly gazed off into the stars and was silent. The only person to leave the island was Don the sailor. Daddy paid Don to sail to the mainland to get supplies like groceries.

  You know what's funny?  About 50%* of all the stories I have written or thought of are about cats. And 20%* at least have cats in them. That only leaves 30%* for normal non-cat stories. 30%!!* I don't have any cats!! I have been scratched by a cat!!! I am allergic to cats!!! Long Road Home

I'm driving down this small road in the middle of a beautiful forest not knowing where I'm going, but not really caring anyway. All I know is I'm going somewhere and whatever happens I'm having fun. But then My phone pings. The Google Map app floods the screen. "I see that the route you're on now is slow," Google Map says. "But I have found a much better and more efficient route for you to take. Would you like to continue?" Faster is better, right? I start to wonder if I should try something bigger than my little road. Diving in the woods had been fine for so long, I wonder what this new path will be like. "Sure," I say, excitedly pressing "continue".  The directions veer me off my path. There's no turning back now.  The road takes me to a wide speedy highway where I get bumped along by car after car, each clearly going big places.
