Cats

You know what's funny? 

About 50%* of all the stories I have written or thought of are about cats.

And 20%* at least have cats in them.

That only leaves 30%* for normal non-cat stories. 30%!!*

I don't have any cats!!

I have been scratched by a cat!!!

I am allergic to cats!!!

So why do I write so much about cats? 

I'm glad you asked. 😉

I have no idea. 😅

Maybe since I don't have a cat and I don't know what it's like to have to clean out a little box and bathe a clawed ball of fury, Maybe I think that cats are just cute and perfect in every way?

Maybe.

Here's something to think about;

When I was little (like, maybe 8) I wrote (or drew. mostly drew :) a story about a dog who was a sheriff trying to catch this cat who was a thief. in the end they fell in love, so no harm no foul and no went to jail. (mostly because you found out that she only stole socks and I guess there are no laws about stealing those)

But the funny thing is, by the end of the story, the dog sheriff had become a cat! Not even on purpose! I guess I forgot that he was a dog and since I was already drawing a cat with him he just became a cat for the rest of the story! 😂

 I guess love can really change a man (or dog). 

Here's something else;

One of my favorite characters I have ever made is Ruben. He is part boy and part dragon. And you can probably guess what snippet he's from; Ruben The Lost (Which I have yet to write 😅)

You're probably thinking, "What's this got to do with cats?!" All in good time, all in good time.

Ruben did not originally come from The Untold Story of Ruben The Lost (Or Ruben The Lost for short. Or RTL for really short). The character himself is about a year old in the making, while RTL is only about six months old. He has actually come from a long line of stories as I have tried to make him fit with one. (get it? he's lost because he doesn't have a story. Ruben The Lost. Eh? Eh?) His original character traits and personality came from a fraction of an Idea called The Color Changing Cat. So yes, my most treasured character was once, for a very short time, a cat.

So there you have it. The Whimsical Writer likes cats. There's no doubt about it. 😸
